Nice hold the best away record in Ligue 1

Having looked particularly comfortable away from home this season, OGC Nice once again confirmed their propensity to pick up points on their travels last Sunday by beating Brest 3-0. Le Gym’s win in Finistère was their seventh away from the Côte d’Azur in Ligue 1 since August – following the victories against Lille, Nantes, Saint-Étienne, Angers, Clermont and Rennes – and is in fact their eighth in all competitions, taking the 1-0 win away to Cholet in the Coupe de France into account. No other team has reached this total in the league so far this season, with Paris and Marseille, respectively first and third in the table, following behind on six wins each.

With a record of seven wins, one draw and two defeats, OGC Nice have picked up a total of 22 points on the road. Even in this respect, no-one else has done better in the top flight (Paris have also picked up 22 points having played a game more, whilst Marseille have taken 20 with a game still to be played away to Lyon).

Le Gym can partially put these results down to its strikers’ fine form on the road. With six goals (from a total of nine), Amine Gouiri is the joint-top scorer away from home in Ligue 1, alongside Lille’s Jonathan David and Rennes’s Martin Terrier. Kasper Dolberg, meanwhile, has scored each of his five goals in 2021-22 on his travels, and Andy Delort has bagged four of his six league goals for Nice in away games.
