Bem-vindo Tiago

Tiago Gouveia is a new Aiglon. The Portuguese winger (24 years old) has joined the club on loan from Benfica for the 2025-26 season.

He did not appear in the double clash between Nice and Lisbon, although he did get playing time in three other matches for Benfica at the start of this season. A great hope of Portuguese football, followed “for a long time” by Florian Maurice and the Red and Black recruitment team, Tiago Gouveia will wear the Nice shirt this season. “We were looking for a different and versatile profile,” explains the Sporting Director. “Tiago is a quality player, very technical, capable of playing both as a winger and as a wing-back, on the right or the left.

Trained at Benfica, the new Niçois had a successful loan spell at Estoril in 2022-23 (29 matches, 5 goals and 5 assists) and has played 40 matches (5 goals, 8 assists) with Benfica’s first team: “I’ve reached a point in my career where I need more playing time,” the player shares. “The club’s management and the coach have already shown me a lot of trust in all our discussions, and I thank them for that. I’m happy to join OGC Nice and I can’t wait to help the team.

“We are happy that Tiago is joining us,” concludes Fabrice Bocquet, President of OGC Nice. “He is a very talented player, who speaks French and offers different options to the coach. We are convinced that he has all the qualities, both sporting and human, to adapt very quickly and thrive with us.”
