Yehvann Diouf, our new Aiglon
OGC is delighted to announce the arrival of Yehvann Diouf (25) from Stade de Reims.
The talented and highly sought-after goalkeeper (1.88m) is an established Ligue 1 player and he will now wear the red-and-black shirt. “Yehvann embodies stability, consistency, and above and beyond his intrinsic qualities, he is in his prime and is used to wearing the captain’s armband from his time at his former club,” Le Gym’s sporting director Florian Maurice said. “We’re signing both a goalkeeper and a leader who is used to taking responsibility and with whom we can look to the long term as he has signed a five-year contract.” “This human aspect is essential,” said President Jean-Pierre Rivère. “Yehvann is a great guy with a remarkable attitude. We were all in agreement regarding him. He corresponds perfectly to our philosophy and we wish him every success over many years with us.”
Born in Montreuil, he came through the Troyes youth academy before signing for Reims in 2019, playing the last three seasons as their number one. He won his first senior cap for Senegal on 6 June against the Republic of Ireland, playing alongside Antoine Mendy, whom he will team up with at Nice. “This is a great opportunity that I’m approaching with ambition,” he said. “Nice is a club used to playing in European competition, a powerhouse in Ligue 1. I’m very proud to commit myself to playing here long term. I’m convinced that we can achieve great things and make our fans proud. Issa Nissa!”
