Victor Orakpo (19) will play for Montpellier in Ligue 2 this season. He has joined the club on loan without an option to buy.

The loan will give the powerful forward the playing time he needs in a professional league to continue his development. This is a method that has already been tried and tested with Evann Guessand, who came through at Le Gym and benefited from loans to Lausanne and then Nantes before establishing himself in Nice's attack.

After arriving at the club in January 2024 from Bayern Munich's youth teams, the Nigerian initially played in the elite group for the first part of the year, before joining the pro squad during pre-season last year and seeing his contract extended until 2028.
