Coupe de France

A big screen for the people of Nice!

In a statement today, Christian Estrosi announced that the city of Nice would set up a big screen on the Promenade du Paillon to give the Nice fans who won’t be able to make it to Saint-Denis the chance to experience the final together.

On 7th May, OGC Nice will attempt to win the fourth Coupe de France in their history, 25 years after the last one, with this date highlighted in red (and black) in the diaries of Le Gym fans everywhere.

“Many of them have already planned to make the trip to Saint-Denis to support Les Aiglons, but I’m sparing a thought for those who won’t be so lucky, so I have decided to give them the chance to follow this event in the heart of our city,” Estrosi wrote in a press statement this morning.

The city of Nice will therefore set up a 12x7m screen on the Promenade du Paillon, in the area around the mist-spraying vents, where 9,000 people will be able to follow the match live. Entertainment will also be organised before kick-off at 21:00 CET.

“I know that the people of Nice will turn up in numbers to share such a big night with each other! In the meantime, make sure to head to the Allianz Riviera to support Les Aiglons in even larger numbers in Ligue 1. Issa Nissa,” concluded the Mayor of Nice.
