Biography

Born in Marseille, Antoine Mendy joined OGC Nice's youth academy at the age of 10 in 2014, where he honed his skills. A former striker, he was repositioned to right-back during his youth career.

Taking part in the pre-season training camp in the summer of 2022, he caught the eye of Lucien Favre and signed his first professional contract on 29 September, aged 19. Launched into the world of professional football on 16 October 2022, in a Ligue 1 match against AJ Auxerre (J11, 1-1), the defender made his European debut a few weeks later, coming on as a substitute against Partizan Belgrade in the Conference League (2-1).

In his first season as a professional, Antoine Mendy played in 15 matches, including a stand-out performance at Lens (J21, 0-1), where he was voted Aiglon of the match, providing an assist for Gaëtan Laborde before doing the same the following week at the Velodrome for Billal Brahimi (J22, 1-3).
