Laborde: 'I needed that!'

After scoring Nice's second goal in the 2-1 win in Lorient, Gaëtan Laborde spoke to Canal+ Foot: "I needed that! Since I've been here, I've hit the bar three times and a post once. It's good for the team because it gets us all three points, so it's a very important goal. We had a much better second half. Technically and in terms of our runs, things went a little better and we managed to be effective."

Asked about the important contribution of the players who came off the bench in the second half, Laborde explained: "It's important, it means that the squad is in good shape. We play every three days, so we have to rotate the squad. Because playing on Thursday and then again on Sunday doesn't leave enough time for recovery. It's good to be able to count on everyone in these moments."

Thanks to this success in Lorient, Les Aiglons are on a run of consecutive victories, having emerged victorious against Partizan Belgrade last Thursday.

"It's good," said the 28-year-old Frenchman. "Now we just have to keep going, and the matches are coming thick and fast. We will try to take a maximum of points right up to the end. We have a big game in Cologne on Thursday. It's an important match. We have been fighting since the beginning of the season to get through the group stage. It's a tough group. It's not easy, so we'll have to make sure we have a huge game in a terrific stadium with a great atmosphere."
