AIGLON OF THE MATCH

Nicolas Pepe’s performance under the microscope

By scoring from the spot in the dying moments of the game on Sunday, Nicolas Pepe rescued Nice a 1-1 draw against Nantes. The Ivorian striker has since been voted Aiglon of the Match with 61% of the votes.

He hit the post, he ran, he sprinted… Nicolas Pepe tried everything he could over the course of 90 minutes to find a way to earn his OGC Nice side at least a point on Sunday, and it eventually took his stoppage-time penalty to save Le Gym from defeat. His third goal this season in Ligue 1 (and his fourth in all competitions) as well as his work in attack make him the winner of the Aiglon of the Match award, as chosen by Les Rouge et Noir’s fans.
