Favre / Ghisolfi: “We had a good, two-hour discussion”
“We spoke at length, and it was very interesting.” Earlier today, Lucien Favre dwelt on his discussions with Florent Ghisolfi, OGC Nice’s new sporting director.
Les Aiglons’ manager spent a long time reflecting on Ghisolfi’s arrival and his importance to the club’s operations: “Everyone knew that we needed a sporting director, and his arrival is very important. We now have a sporting director, which is a big help and a relief. Florent has a lot of work on his hands. We had a good, two-hour discussion where the only thing that we spoke about was football. Now, he needs to meet people to get an overview of things. That’s very important.”
At the top of his list of people was the Rouge et Noir squad, whom the former RC Lens sporting director went to see this week. “He introduced himself to the squad,” continued the coach. “He said some simple but very interesting things. I can tell you one of them: he spoke about their mindset. That’s very good.
“What he has to do and what he will do is very important,” the Swiss finished. “It’s a big job and a very attractive challenge. The club is in the process of structuring itself, and a lot is going to happen. The important thing is that we move forward, and the sporting director is very important in structuring everything and clarifying certain things.”
