Youcef Atal’s wondergoal with Algeria

Le Gym’s final few international players were in action last night, with two of them particularly standing out.

The first was Youcef Atal. Having remained on the bench against Guinea, Le Gym’s right-back was handed a start by Djamel Belmadi in a friendly against Nigeria and went on to earn his Algeria side a 2-1 win with a sumptuous hit from 30 yards out – his second international goal and his first so far this season.

Whilst Andy Delort came on for the last 15 minutes of the game, Billal Brahimi remained on the bench.

PÉPÉ MAKES THE DIFFERENCE WITH THE IVORY COAST

A little earlier on in the evening, Nicolas Pépé proved to be the difference-maker with the Ivory Coast, as the striker was involved in both Ibrahim Sangaré’s and Seko Fofana’s goals against Guinea. Les Éléphants went on to win the friendly 3-1.

After not featuring against Togo, Pépé played for an hour of the match before making way for Wilfried Zaha.
