In order to cause an upset, something more than a perfect team performance was needed. That something, in the dead of night in Paris, came from Marcin Bułka. Having put in an impeccable display, the Gym keeper came up with two sublime saves in the penalty shootout to send his side through to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France. Whilst he admitted to feeling “a lot of emotion” in stepping off the pitch, the Pole was also buzzing when he walked into the dressing room, where he was hailed by his teammates savouring the moment, together, united and accompanied by coaching staff and owners who were happy and focused on the upcoming aims for the season.
