Aiglon of the match

Melvin Bard does it again!

Having already been voted as the Aiglon of the Match in the last game at the Allianz Riviera – a 0-0 draw with Brest – Melvin Bard has again been chosen for the award by the Nice fans following the 1-0 derby win over Marseille.

Bard was as combative as ever on Saturday, contesting 12 duels and making six ball recoveries, not to mention his monumental effort to track back and deprive Amine Harit and his OM teammates of a glorious goalscoring opportunity on the counter with half an hour played.

Earning 57% of the votes, the 22-year-old full-back – who was making his 90th appearance for Le Gym – finishes ahead of Nice academy product Evann Guessand (23%), who came off the bench and won the derby for his side with a thumping header. Finally, the top three is completed by the excellent Marcin Bułka (6%), who was applauded by the Nice supporters for the entirety of an evening that ended in a sixth clean sheet of the season.
