Ross Barkley arrives at Le Gym!

Midfielder Ross Barkley (28) has joined OGC Nice on a free transfer after four-and-a-half years at Chelsea.

A British blend of talent, technique and aggression topped off with character, the 28-year-old has decided to continue his career at Le Gym.

Born in Liverpool and a product of the Everton youth academy, Ross Barkley made his Premier League debut aged 18, and was called up by England before his 20th birthday. The robust attacking midfielder established himself at the highest level over a decade in the Premier League (232 games, 29 goals), winning 33 caps (6 goals) for England, playing at the 2014 World Cup and the 2019 Nations League, as well as being a member of the EURO 2016 squad.

Though best known for his spell at Everton (179 matches, 27 goals, 28 assists), Barkley has also played for Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa and Chelsea. He played a century of games for the Blues, whom he joined in January 2018 (12 goals, 11 passes), playing in the Champions League, and winning the Europa League (2019) and the FA Cup (2018).

Alors que le mercato estival s’est conclu jeudi soir dernier, sa libération de contrat lui permet de s’engager aujourd’hui avec les Aiglons.

Welcome Ross !
