Season ticket holders and supporters line up to get behind Les Aiglons

On Sunday, the Allianz Riviera won’t be far from being sold out for the visit of Lyon (1pm). One after the other, each section of the Allianz Riviera has been filling up in the Ray and Garibaldi. Hospitality areas also sold out several days ago, and the Ségurane will be busy. In total, almost 25,000 spectators are expected, while the Tribune Sud will serve the final match of its enforced closure.

A real demonstration of the support behind the 2021-22 squad, after such impatience to return to the stands this summer, following the difficult past 12 months.

The above contradicts the infographic published in L’Equipe last week, looking at attendances in Ligue 1 which omitted to take into account the matches partially played behind closed doors and the 32,607 spectators that attended the match between Nice and Marseille, a capacity crowd on 22 August.

A record number of season tickets holders

Excluding individual matchday sales, this level of passionate support stems from the season ticket campaign launched in mid-July. Still open in certain categories, it has already beaten the 2017-18 record (12,500) when Le Gym made it into the play-offs of the Champions League, following the incredible season that preceded it!

With already more than 12,500 cards sold, each and everyone of the fans can be taking advantage of the Spending Power Programme.

A beautiful example of the incredible support that Christophe Galtier’s squad is enjoying this season.
