The FIFA World Cup began on Thursday evening in Mexico, Canada and the USA. No less than seven Aiglons and Elye Wahi, who became a Côte d’Ivoire international while on-loan at Le Gym from Frankfurt, will be taking part. It sets a new record for the club.

In 2026, eight of our players have jetted off to Mexico, Canada and the USA after competing this past season in Rouge et Noir: seven permanent members of the playing squad (Diouf, Mendy, Abdi, Bombito, Abdelmonem, Oppong, Boudaoui) and Elye Wahi, contracted to Eintracht Frankfurt, but who earned his debut call up to the Côte d’Ivoire during his five-month loan with Les Aiglons. The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) compiled the ranking of Ligue 1 clubs on the number of their representatives at the World Cup and – including the on-loan No.9 – OGC Nice sits second behind PSG, who count 16 internationals in North America.
