Dante: “The UEFA Pro Licence is an important step for me”

As well as enjoying his final season as a player for OGC Nice and being named in Les Aiglons’ starting XI for both of their last two league outings, 42-year-old Dante has now had the satisfaction of receiving his UEFA Pro Licence, the highest level of coaching certification available in Europe, which will allow him to occupy the most important positions at any professional football club – ranging from first-team head coach to sporting director – be it in France or abroad, as reported by L’Équipe. “This is an important step for me. I’ve always wanted to understand the game in its entirety, not just as a player,” Dante commented. “This course allowed me to take a step back, to keep learning and, above all, to prepare myself to pass on what football has given to me.”

JEAN-PIERRE Rivère: “i’m IMMENSELY PROUD”

Jean-Pierre Rivère, who recently returned to the role of OGC Nice president that he held when Dante joined the club in 2016, expressed how “immensely proud” he was to see the Brazilian obtain his UEFA Pro Licence: “The fact that he has now taken this step sends out a strong message: high standards, professionalism and exemplarity don’t just apply to your playing career but also resonate when it comes to preparing for the future.”
