Morgan Sanson officially joins Nice

Having been loaned out at the start of the season by Aston Villa with an option to buy, Morgan Sanson has now joined OGC Nice on a permanent basis until 2027.

He arrived on loan with a purchase option that conveyed the club’s and the player’s aim, and as soon as he was presented to the public, the tone was set – the idea was for Morgan Sanson to join Le Gym for the long haul.

With two Ligue 1 matches left and Les Aiglons already guaranteed a top-five finish, OGC Nice can now confirm that Sanson’s first season here is merely the start of the no. 11’s journey, as all of the conditions have now been met for the loan deal to become a permanent transfer, keeping him at the club until 2027.

The experienced and tireless “Momo”, who will turn 30 in August, has made 31 appearances for Les Rouge et Noir, notching up four goals and three assists in the process. “It’s an absolute pleasure to keep the adventure going at Nice,” the player explained. “In my head, it’s been clear since the start, and I’m really happy that we’ve achieved our aims and that the stars have aligned. The season isn’t over yet, but it’s already a success. We’re going to be playing European football again, we’ve got some big challenges ahead of us, and the club is ambitious. I hope that we finish well and that the future will be at least as wonderful.”
