Bard: "I adhere to the project"

Having appeared for the first time in the rouge et noir shirt against Reims, Melvin Bard was officially presented to the press on Tuesday.

"I came here because I adhere to the project and the ambitions of the club." In front of the press, the 20-year-old left-back explained with simplicity his reasons for coming to the Gym. An arrival before which he spoke "to the coach" and Amine Gouiri, with whom he came up through the OL youth system."It's easier when you know some players. Amine said to me that the Gym was a very good club and would welcome me with pleasure."

In agreement with the Aigons since July 16, the man from Ecully spoke continuously to the club during the summer that he spent in Tokyo with the France team. The Olympic adventure was a mixed experience as the Bleus were knocked out in the group stage, "against teams that were readier than we were", yet he still considered it "a great experience."

Now focused on the rouge et noir's season, Bard finished his press conference by analyzing his play and his objectives: "My biggest quality is to never give up on anything on the pitch and to give the best of myself in every match. On the flip side, I need to improve my attacking play and the quality of my crossing."
