"A good point" for Lucien Favre

In his press conference, Aiglons coach Lucien Favre recognised that Nantes had caused several problems for his side.

On the match…
It’s a good point. It was a very difficult match, it was expected. Nantes are a side who are playing well and with a lot of commitment and rhythm. They are a team that are very powerful up-front, be that on the wings or in the middle. It breaks you down a lot, and they play deep and quickly, one touch. We managed it better later on, with lots of possession but not as much as we are used to. We scored a superb goal to equalise, great build-up. After that, it was complicated, but we managed. Before an international break, there is always a bit of concentration that goes missing amongst teams that know they won’t have a match for 15 days.

On the international break...
It won’t allow us to get back any of our injured players. From that point of view, it isn’t that useful for us. It will help our recovery and that’s it. We will continue to work hard, we have eight matches to go, which we will take one after the other. They will all be difficult.

On the difficult start for the Aiglons...
Well, yes that is true, but it’s not surprising if you have seen Nantes’ recent game.

On the league table and a possible breakaway by Monaco and/or Paris...
You know, as I have already said, I don’t look at that too much. Both for the teams ahead of us or behind. I look at how we play, what we can currently do. I am looking for solutions to make the most of the squad that is currently available.

On the return of Ricardo…
It was his first match since mid-January. After his first full week of training. We worked a bit on the reflexes of this position, in a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1, it takes time. It’s clear that it isn’t really his position. He is a player that needs space to run into, to see the game in front of him. Today, he found himself too often with his back to the opposition, where as usually it is Ricardo who has their back to him. But in a tough match like today’s, he managed well, there was intensity on the wings, the full-backs pushed on a lot and he helped Souquet a lot in defence. You have Thomasson, Iloki, Kaçaniklic who are very quick too.

On the penalty the Nantais appealed for in the dying stages…
I am going to be honest, from the bench it was very confusing and I didn’t see anything. Last week against Caen, you asked me my opinion on the Caen handball in the box, in the same way, I didn’t see it. To be honest, I haven’t even seen the replays of the action. In any case, it’s finished, if it’s given or not, we can’t change anything.
