Five things to know ahead of Juventus v. Nice

With the next stage of Le Gym’s summer preparations set to bring them to the Juventus Training Center for a friendly against the Italian giants at 18:00 CEST this Friday, here are five things worth knowing about the match.

ONLY ONE PREVIOUS MEETING BETWEEN THE TWO

Les Aiglons have crossed paths with Juventus on just one previous occasion: 3rd July 1951, in the Rio Cup – an international tournament held in Brazil – with I Bianconeri winning 3–2.

TWO CITIES just 155 kilometres APART

Nice and Turin are separated by roughly 155 km as the crow flies (or nearly 280 km by road). This geographical proximity makes Juventus one of the closest major European clubs to Le Gym.

For the first time during this pre-season, an OGC Nice match will be broadcast for free live on the club’s official YouTube channel (in France only).

SEVEN GOALS SCORED, NONE CONCEDED

Olivier Pantaloni’s men boast a 100% record from their two pre-season friendlies so far, with their 4–0 win over Nîmes and their 3–0 win over Marseille also giving them a total of seven goals scored and none conceded. However, this combination of a clinical attack and an impenetrable defence will be put to the test against Juventus – a UEFA Europa League participant this season – who began their pre-season campaign with a 0–0 draw against FC Basel before a 1–0 victory over Standard Liège.
