Former Aiglon

Éric Bauthéac visits the Club

He played at the Stade du Ray and trained at the old training ground, as well as being there for the opening of the Allianz Riviera. Part of the Aiglons squad from 2012 to 2015, Éric Bauthéac returned to Le Gym’s training ground with his family. It was an opportunity to explore the current facilities and relive the many memories of his time playing in the red and black of Nice.

On 22nd September 2013, during the opening ceremony of the Allianz Riviera, Éric Bauthéac made history by scoring the stadium’s first goal by Frenchman, as well as its first goal from open play. The very first goal in the history of the Allianz Riviera had, however, been scored a few minutes earlier by Darío Cvitanich, from the penalty spot.

We interviewed him two years ago, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Allianz Riviera, to look back on that historic evening and the goal that secured his place in the stadium’s history.
