Official Statement OGC Nice

Following a particularly challenging season, OGC Nice has taken the necessary time to assess its situation and determine the most appropriate direction for the club’s future.

This season did not meet expectations. The sporting results and the various challenges encountered led us to undertake a thorough review in order to prepare for the future with clarity and ambition.

Today, this work has been completed, and the club now has the foundations required to approach next season with confidence and stability. Valuable lessons have been learned, and all the conditions are in place to begin a new chapter built on stability, consistency, and high standards.

As part of this new phase, Maurice Cohen will serve as President of OGC Nice. His experience, deep knowledge of the club, and commitment to its values are invaluable assets in supporting this next stage of development. Jean-Pierre Rivère will remain President of the OGC Nice Endowment Fund, where he will continue his commitment to the club and its initiatives in support of the local community.

Claude Puel has now reached the conclusion of his mission as Head Coach of the first team. INEOS and OGC Nice would like to express their sincere gratitude for the work he has carried out over the past several months. Arriving during a particularly difficult period, he played a key role in helping the club avoid relegation and in creating more favourable conditions for the future.

As during his first spell at the club, Claude Puel stepped forward at an important moment in OGC Nice’s history, placing his experience, dedication, and attachment to the club at the service of the collective interest. His professionalism, commitment, and sense of responsibility have been unanimously appreciated.

The entire club is now fully focused on preparing for the 2026–2027 season, with the ambition of building a coherent, sustainable, and ambitious project for the benefit of OGC Nice, its supporters, and its region.
