“I already want to congratulate Elye”
After injuring his ankle during the trip to Lyon on 15 February, Elye Wahi appeared among his teammates on Thursday morning, two days before the trip to Angers (Matchday 26, kick-off on Saturday at 7pm).
“I think he has gained days, maybe even weeks, thanks to his commitment.”

“We’ll see if he can be available for the squad as early as this weekend. We still have one last training session tomorrow for Elye,” Claude Puel explained to the press.
The coach continued: “I already wanted to congratulate him for all the work he has done and his desire to come back as quickly as possible. I think he has gained days, maybe even weeks, thanks to his commitment. We’re happy about that. The initial timeline was probably a bit longer, but he did so much treatment and put in so much effort. Congratulations to the staff as well who worked with him. And in a way, recovery times improve when you are also mentally ready and determined to return as quickly as possible.”
