Elye Wahi signs on loan at Le Gym
OGC Nice has signed Elye Wahi on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the season.
The France youth international will bolster Les Aiglons’ attacking ranks. Quick, powerful and with a proven eye for goal, Elye Wahi has already shown himself to be one of the most talented attackers of his generation in Ligue 1.
A Montpellier youth product, where he made his first team debut very young, Elye Wahi has consistently produced at the highest level and is known for his ability to make runs in behind the defence and his clinical finishing.
“Elye corresponds perfectly to what we are looking for,” explained OGC Nice sporting director Florian Maurice. “He is a powerful forward, a real handful for opposition defenders and excellent in front of goal. Despite his young age (he turns 23 on Friday), he has already acquired a large experience at the highest level. This loan deal reflects our desire to reinforce the playing squad.”

“He is an ambitious player,” continued Jean-Pierre Rivère. “He chose to relaunch himself with Le Gym, a demanding environment with a collective team project. We are convinced that this loan will be beneficial for all the parties involved and that Elye will bring his qualities to Claude Puel’s playing group.”
“We met with a player very motivated and determined to give everything for Le Gym,” highlighted vice-president Maurice Cohen. “We will do everything we can to ensure he can give his very best for the club.”

Already familiar with the demands of Ligue 1, Elye Wahi looked enthusiastically towards this new challenge: “I am very happy to be joining OGC Nice. It’s an historic club, with very passionate supporters. I could feel the confidence of the coach and the directors. I am here to work hard, to help the team and give my absolute maximum every match.”
