Maillot

Red, black and iconic

To mark the 25th anniversary of the legendary Kombat™ shirt, Kappa® and OGC Nice are delighted to unveil a throwback jersey that blends innovation and performance. Inspired by the Kombat™ shirt worn by Italy at EURO 2000, this reworked model – Kombat™ XXV – pays tribute to a quarter-century of technical and stylistic pedigree.

The Kombat™ XXV OGC Nice combines historic Italian design aesthetics and the powerful identity of the club. Made of 92% recycled polyester and 8% elastane, the shirt’s lightness, elasticity and unequalled comfort make it stand out, and follows the “Stop Stopping” philosophy that revolutionised football in the 2000s.

This special edition is in the club’s traditional colours along with commemorative 25th anniversary details that are emblematic of the Kombat’s™ heritage and the modernity of football in Nice.

LEGENDARY INSPIRATION

The design, which has fine white stripes in between the red and black, also has its own history. It dates back to 1951 and the club’s invitation to particiapte in a major international competition in Brazil, the Copa Rio. There, the Aiglons came up against Leônidas, the “Black Diamond” who made the bicycle kick famous at the 1938 World Cup. He was the coach of São Paulo, whose black-and-red shirt with white stripes gave the visitors from France an idea. It became the shirt worn by the title-winning side of 1951-52, and was worn regularly by Pancho Gonzalez and Co. during a decade of success.

FIRST OUTING: 7 DECEMBER

The Kombat™ XXV OGC Nice is available exclusively in its “Authentic” version from 6 December in the official OGC Nice boutiques, as well as boutique.ogcnice.com and kappa.fr.

The players will wear it for the first time at home to Angers SCO at the Allianz Riviera, which will be one of the highlights of this global celebration by Kappa®.

The launch of the Kombat™ XXV is part of the 25th anniversary with 18 Kappa® clubs across the planet wearing this anniversary editiion shirt. From Genoa to Buenos Aires, Florence to Nice, the Kombat™ legend continues to unite on pitches worldwide.
