GOVERNING BODIES

Fabrice Bocquet elected to LFP board of directors

At its general assembly on Wednesday, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) gathered to elect three new members to its board of directors.

With 84.75% of his peers’ votes, Fabrice Bocquet became one of those three elected members, alongside FC Nantes’s Waldemar Kita (76.68%) and FC Lorient’s Loïc Féry (60.09%).

After succeeding Jean-Pierre Rivère as OGC Nice’s president this summer, Bocquet will now take on his predecessor’s role as part of French football’s governing body. “Le Gym is one of the biggest clubs in French football, so it’s important that we continue to be represented as Jean-Pierre represented us for several years,” he explained. “I’d like to thank the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs for their support; this is a wonderful responsibility towards them. My career path gives me a feel for the challenges faced by French clubs, whether they’re vying for promotion, fighting to stay up or taking part in European competitions. I’m joining this board of directors with freshness and humility whilst also believing that it’s crucial that we each work at our own level to bring clubs together around a common vision. That’s necessary for us to bounce back given our current situation and to improve French football’s image.
