Happy anniversary INEOS

OGC Nice owners INEOS are today celebrating 25 years of existence.

On 5th May 1998, with the signing of their first-ever deal to purchase a former BP site in the Belgian city of Antwerp for £80 million, INEOS was born.

Since that first transaction, the group founded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made hundreds more in the petrochemicals, oil, gas and energy sectors. As of 2023, INEOS possesses 36 businesses in 29 countries and employs 26,000 people.

The British company uses science and technology to solve complex problems both locally and internationally and has also set itself the aim of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest.

In recent years, INEOS has branched out beyond its industrial core activity by investing in consumer brands, sports and charities. This is how the firm, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Andy Currie and John Reece, came to buy OGC Nice in August 2019.

Birthday celebrations against Rennes

After forming the number 25 on the club’s training and academy pitches, Les Aiglons will wish its owners a happy birthday by wearing a commemorative t-shirt during the warm-up against Rennes. For this game, the event’s logo will also be placed on the shirts of Les Rouge et Noir, who will pose for a photo ahead of kick-off, as well as on the stadium’s advertising hoardings.
