Before answering questions from the media during Didier Digard's official presentation, President Rivère paid tribute to Lucien Favre.  "The whole club has a lot of respect for Lucien Favre. He left his mark on the club's history, and we really enjoyed it with Lucien during his spell here a few years back. I was very happy to be reunited with him this summer, and unfortunately it didn't work out the way I would have liked. We took a communal decision. It's not the Coupe de France defeat that led to it. It's the fruit of a longer-term thought process. We know where we want to go. We reasoned that with the staff around him — because it's a team effort — Didier could take the first team until further notice."

"We're always thinking about things," said Florent Ghisolfi, sporting director. "Things were looking better and we thought that with a new pre-season, it would be more positive. We saw there wasn't a big improvement both in training and in matches."
