Florent Ghisolfi, the incoming OGC Nice Sporting Director

OGC Nice is delighted to announce that Florent Ghisolfi will soon be appointed the club’s Sporting Director. His arrival is an important new step in structuring the club, of which he will be one of the cornerstones.

Sporting Director at RC Lens since 2019, the former professional player is seen as the architect of the club’s development, which has been fuelled by attractive football, making the right choices in terms of personnel (from the appointment of Franck Haise as coach to the building of the squad), and the establishment of a behind-the-scenes organisation focused on performance. All those fit neatly with the modern profile Dave Brailsford and the OGC Nice hierarchy have been looking for.

Now aged 37, Florent Ghisolfi has been convinced by INEOS Sport’s project for OGC Nice and the opportunity to oversee all Le Gym’s sporting activities. Under the responsibility of Fabrice Bocquet (CEO), he will take up his post in the coming weeks. Florent Ghisolfi will be accompanied in his mission by Grégory Thil, who will come in to reinforce the Aiglons’ recruitment cell after being responsible for recruitment at RC Lens.

Florent Ghisolfi in brief

Born in Aubagne, Florent Ghisolfi (37) started his professional playing career as a midfielder with Bastia (2005-10) before joining Reims (2010-14). When he hung up his boots, he began his post-playing career as a coach at Reims, working with the women’s team before becoming Olivier Guégan’s assistant coach in 2016. He had the same role alongside Patrice Lair with PSG’s women’s team, and then with Mickaël Landreau with the Lorient men’s first team. He was appointed Racing Club de Lens’ Sporting Director in 2019.
