Another day another stat
Les Aiglons’ mid-season points totals
Throughout the short winter break, OGCNICE.com will provide you with daily stats on Les Aiglons’ season so far, the first of which concerns the points total amassed by Christophe Galtier’s men.
34 - 1 = 33
Ten wins, four draws and five defeats – that’s Les Aiglons’ record from the first half of the 2021-22 campaign. The “fictional” total of 34 points holds its true value in the point deducted by the LFP’s Disciplinary Committee following Nice v. Marseille, which brings us down to 33 – the same total as Les Phocéens, who have a game in hand to be played against Lyon.

Le Gym have made quicker progress during a season on just one occasion since the turn of the millennium: during the 2016-17 season. The team, then led by Lucien Favre, were top with 44 points going into the winter break and would go on to end the league campaign in third place.
The promotion-winning Gym side of 2002-03 also held a total of 33 points at the halfway stage before stalling in the second half of the season and eventually finishing in tenth place (see below).
