Nice - Paris SG scheduled for 1pm
The encounter between OGC Nice - Paris Saint-Germain (matchday 30) has been scheduled for Sunday 18 March at 1pm, “in order to better expose the French championship in Asia”, announced the LFP on Monday evening.
“International development constitutes a strategic challenge for Ligue 1 Conforama”, explained the LFP.
“One year after the opening of the French Football office in Beijing, the scheduling of a high profile game in Ligue 1 Conforama at prime time in Asia, constitutes an important step to show off the French championship. This first step will allow better exposure to the Asian market who are becoming more and more interested in the French game”, delighted Didier Quillot (Executive Managing Director of the LFP), thanking the broadcasters and the two clubs for their agreement.
Thanks to this unusual kick-off, the fixture will be broadcasted at prime time in South East Asia. The broadcasters of Ligue 1 Conforama (live matches, magazines) in Asia are Tencent, PPTV, CCTV (China), beIN SPORTS (Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Macao, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore), Skynet (Myanmar), SCTV et BTV5 (Vietnam), as well as TV5 Monde for the whole of the area.
In France, the fixture will be co-broadcasted by Canal+ and beIN SPORTS.
Towards a “sell-out”
Starting with a priority sale for season ticket holders, there are still tickets available for the game on the online ticket office as well as in the usual points of sale.
