Vieira: “Herelle’s return is a very good thing”

With two days to go until the visit of Paris Saint-Germain, two players are back in contention for Patrick Vieira: Christophe Hérelle and Rémi Walter.

The Nice born defender (3 starts in 2019-20) “returned to full training with the squad at the start of the week. He hasn’t had any issues and feels very good, explained Le Gym’s coach during his press conference on Wednesday lunchtime. We will need to see how Christophe feels and evaluate his phyiscal state, to see if he is able to hold his own in a match at this level. But it’s true that it’s a very good thing to have him in the squad.” As a reminder, Hérelle came off in the 81st minute of the derby against Marseille due to a pain in his knee on 28 August.

Walter had been replaced before the hour mark in the first competitive match of the season (Nice 2-1 Amiens). The midfielder “came back after his ankle problem (sprain, Editor’s note) and is also training with the squad”, added  Patrick Vieira.
