P. Vieira: ''Really satisfied''

Satisfied by the performance of his side, despite the defeat (0-1), Patrick Vieira analysed the fixture against Torino with clarity and efficiency.

Coach, what do we need to take away from this fourth friendly?
The performance of the side. I think that the content was really very good. We are getting better in every match. It's really positive.

When you see the score and the content of the match, you would say to yourself that it wasn't the right result...
Yes, but the score isn't important today. What's important is the content of the game. We showed lots of things, be it defensively or in attack. We created opportunities, unfortunately,we were a bit clumsy in front of goal. Not everything was perfect, but it's a big step forward.

You experienced many situations, including playing with ten men.
It's also a test, to see how we react mentally. We doubled our effort, even though there was a bit of fatigue towards the end of the match. It was important to retain that attitude, the same philosophy. We tried to play, even though it was difficult. I am really satisfied.

What did you make of Pierre Lees-Melou's game, playing up-front?
Pierre is an interesting player because he can play in every position. He is very intelligent and adapted really well to this number 9 role. It will give me the idea to use him like that if necessary. It was really interesting because he dropped in to allow us to outnumber them. It allowed us to control the game.

Where are the Gym at, after four weeks of pre-season?
We are getting better. The team is playing better and better, the players are understanding more and more of what I am asking of them. Today, we were able to see that the team had a good game, despite the result. The important thing for the moment, is to try to play, to control the match and to create chances. I think we did that.

Is there a sort of impatience for the league to get started (on 11 August at the Allianz Riviera against Reims)?
Of course, we are looking forward to playing the first match at home. We still have a couple of weeks to prepare ourselves. There is a lot more work to do, but what we saw this evening is encouraging.
