Aiglon of the match

Benitez gets the majority vote

Beaten three times, Walter Benitez wasn't able to stop the defeat of his team on Saturday at Montpellier (3-1), despite putting in a remarked upon display.

10 saves for Benitez

After Amine Gouiri (2-1 against Lens) and Kasper Dolberg (0-2) against Strasbourg, the colossus is the 3rd Aiglon Crédit Agricole player of the match to be designated this season. 63% of the 1603 voters elected the Argentinian, who kept out 10 of the 13 Montpellier shots on target, and that despite being in pain after feeling his hip during the warm-up.

We'll remember his double saves against Laborde (25') and then from Delort and Savanier (48'), unfortunately not enough in order to score a second consecutive clean sheet after the one he managed in Alsace.

Gouiri, rested then decisive

Rested by the Nice coaching staff following being injured with France's Under-21s, Amine Gouiri came on just after the hour. Enough for him to show up strongly, with a cross picking out the head of Dante with his first touch (3-1, 69'). Following his first assist - that for Dolberg at Strasbourg didn't make the official count as it took a deflection - the forward then had a dangerous shot in added time.

Dante completes the podium

The former Lyon player scored 26% of the vote. He finished ahead of Dante, the scorer of his 5th goal in rouge et noir (6%) and Hassane Kamara (5%).
