Dante stopped to speak to the press after OGC Nice’s defeat against Rangers (2-0) on Saturday.

The Brazilian defender provided his analysis of the Trophée Veolia, during which Le Gym registered a draw against Celtic last Thursday (1-1) and a defeat against Rangers: "I think that we saw that we had good ideas and a good philosophy. We need to continue to progress with this competitive attitude, we need to want to win every match because I think we had everything we needed to do it, especially against Celtic. We need to improve in that area, but we will work very, very hard all season. We have already done so in the first three weeks, we had an abundance of energy. We are between 70 and 80% because we aren’t yet working enough at speed but I think physically, we are in good shape."

With Le Gym starting against the Scottish side with a youthful starting eleven, Dante was asked about his young teammates: "It's great to see these players progress, to be with us so early on. We see them work, we see that they are enthusiastic and it shows us that our Academy is working hard to produce good players. I am very happy to be on the pitch with them and to be able to share my experience with them, to help them to stay calm and play as well as they possibly can."
