€130,000 for the Kids !

On Monday, the art auction organised by OGC Nice raised €130,000. A sum that will benefit children supported by the Lenval Foundation and the OGC Nice Endowment Fund.

After Allianz Riviera last season, this latest auction was held at the Nice Opera House, graciously provided by the Town Hall. A magical setting, conducive to the meeting of talent and generosity.

Nearly 300 people travelled to the heart of the old town in Nice, to a building classed as an historic monument in 1993. From 6pm onwards, the audience could admire the 48 works created by Nice’s most prestigious artists (see below). "Paper Bag", red and black cactus, paintings, photos... the artists complimented each other as their imaginations adapted to the theme of the evening, which was to reconcile Christmas and childhood… and, of course, Le Gym and its colours.

€92,000 LAST YEAR

"We are in a magic place, and I hope there will be very good vibes. We hope that we will reach the total we have set for ourselves, because these charity projects carried out by both the Lenval Foundation and the Club Endowment Fund are extremely important." From the outset, Jean-Pierre Rivère unveiled the objective of this great evening of solidarity: to match and then exceed the amount raised the previous year: €92,000.

Encouraged by the President, accompanied on stage by Dante and Walter Benitez, sponsors of the event, the participants quickly raised the stakes. €14,000 for the work of Fred Allard, another €1,000 for Bolongaro's "Game Plan", and even more to buy Cipre's work, decorated with the inscriptions "Nissart per tougiou" and "Nissa la bella".

THE SUPPORTERS DO THEIR BIT

Just before 9pm, Jean-Pierre Rivère announced the very good news: the record had been broken. Within the next hour, it shattered. Indeed, at the end of the night, €128,500 had been collected. "But it's not quite finished," interrupted the OGC Nice chairman, before presenting two works created by the fans, including one from the Supporters Club. It sold for €1,500, raising the total for the evening to €130,000.

With a smile, the participants could pose with two cheques of €65,000: the first one will be donated to the Lenval Foundation, the second to the OGC Nice Endowment Fund, which will use it as part of the "children" component of its citizenship policy.
