Dante: “We have learnt a lot this week”

Dante stopped in the mixed zone following Le Gym’s victory against Metz (4-1).

Dante, the team has reacted once again after a heavy defeat.
You can’t let matches pass you by, to then react well or to have a knife to your throat in order to put in good performances. These are things that we need to learn. Despite the defeat on Wednesday, it is still a very positive week because we have learnt a lot. It hurt us but at the same time, it does us some good!

What did it allow you to learn?
That football is all about being demanding. That it’s made up of small details and that you need to be focused for the full 90 minutes. At Saint-Etienne, before their second goal, we had two great chances, if we had scored them, it wouldn’t have been the same outcome. As soon as we get chances, we need to really concentrate to kill off the game. This is what we did this evening (Saturday) and it’s good. At home, we are strong, but now we need to do something away from home, because we can’t continue like this. We need to go to Brest like real warriors and even if we play less well, bring points home.

Are you paying attention to the league table?
I prefer to look at the things we need to improve. Sometimes there are a lot, other times less so. We will look at the league table after that. Let’s be focused on Brest, that’s the most important thing.
