Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Match

Atal never stopped

Youcef Atal has been voted Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Match for Nice – Bordeaux (1-1) by the Red and Black supporters with 47% of the vote. The full-back beat his fellow countryman Adam Ounas (21%) and Pierre Lees-Melou (16%) to the title.

He never gave up, always looking to push forward and break the lines, even when he had less fuel in the tank. On Friday, Youcef Atal played 93 minutes at high intensity. On the right of the defence in the first half, he combined well with Ounas and ate up the space like an ogre. Something that allowed him to open the game up with an excellent assist, finding Lees-Melou who opened the scoring.

Moved to the left wing in the second half, he had a fascinating battle with Mexer, and put incredible commitment into every run, passed on several occasions, created Les Aiglons’ best chances, but never managed to find the final product that would have allowed Le Gym to retake the lead. On Friday, he was the Aiglon with the most touches of the ball (77), he won 80% of his duels and succeeded with 9 runs (only Neymar and Reine-Adelaïde have done better in a L1 match this season).

In second place is Adam Ounas. After an injury picked up during the trip to the Louis-II (J7, 3-1), the n°10 made some excellent passes (especially his ball for Dolberg, minutes after the Nice goal) and often cut in from the right into the heart of the game, to allow fluidity and leaving the space for the full-back playing behind him (Atal then Burner). As the game progressed, he dropped off physically before being replaced in the 79th minute.

Finally, Pierre Lees-Melou takes the final place on the podium. Involved in most of the battles in midfield - where he recovered 11 balls, more than any other Aiglon - he gave his side the lead, perfectly connecting with Atal’s ball into the box after 30 minutes. His first goal this season in L1.
