Cyprien gets a majority
Wylan Cyprien is your Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Match for the encounter between Nice and Reims (2-0). The midfielder and first goal scorer of the evening picked up 64% of the vote.
After missing the last league game, Wylan Cyprien started in midfield for the Niçois. The midfielder greatly contributed to Les Aiglons’ victory, scoring the opener with a sumptuous half-volley, his 20th goal in his Ligue 1 career milieu. It’s also his sixth from outside the box - and no Niçois has done better since he arrived on the Côte d’Azur during the 2016/2017 season.
Particularly influential against Les Champenois, the former Lens man was the Aiglon with the most efforts on goal (4 shots). He also boasts the best pass completion rate (93.7%) and was at the start of the second goal of the evening, when he sent a corner into the box with power and precision.
Benitez there once again
In second place, Walter Benitez received 17% of the vote. The goalkeeper had been named Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Match in Le Gym’s previous three matches and the Argentine continued in his strong form. He made an impact with three key saves to deny the Reims forwards, and in doing so, secured his first clean sheet of the season.
In third place is Christophe Herelle (11%). Solid, the defender put the victory beyond doubt with his second goal in Ligue 1.
Finally, Dante picked up 8% of the vote. The captain was the Niçois with most touches of the ball (115) and attempted the greatest number of passes in the opposition’s half. He also proved unbeatable in the air, winning 100% of his duels.
