During his press conference at lunchtime on Monday, Patrick Vieira confirmed that Walter Benitez and Youcef Atal will feature in the matchday squad for the derby (Nice - Marseille on Wednesday at 9pm).

After injuring his quadriceps during pre-season, Walter Benitez missed out on Les Aiglons’ first two competitive matches of the season (2-1 victory over Amiens and 2-1 against Nîmes). The Argentine goalkeeper returned to full training last Tuesday and “will indeed be in goal” against Olympique de Marseille. “He recovered well from his injury and has had a couple of very good weeks in training and is feeling really good, confirmed Patrick Vieira. There is no reason for him not to play, even though Yannis (Clémentia) was very good in the first two matches and showed that we can rely on him, which is a very good thing for the team.”

Youcef Atal, who returned from the Africa Cup of Nations with a fractured clavicle is now back in training and has joined up with the squad. “He might need a little more time, but he will be in the squad”, concluded the coach.
