Return to training

A first session in the heat

The pre-season preparations for the 2019-20 season got underway this morning at the OGC Nice training ground.

A large squad

For this first day, the coaching staff pulled together a large squad, which included serval youngsters. “The squad will be smaller for Divonne-les-Bains”, explained Patrick Vieira, who will take his side to Ain on 6 July.

The players present for the first day back :

Clementia, Cardinale, Boulhendi, Cissé, Lloris, Burner, Pelmard, Boscagli, Coly, Perraud, Mestrallet, Tameze, Cyprien, Wade, Danilo, Lees-Melou, Valtriani, Walter, Marcel, Lusamba, Saint-Maximin, Sylvestre, Brazão, Le Bihan, Guessand, Mahou, Myziane, Ganago, Sacko, Jaziri, Gameiro, Diaby-Fadiga.

Walter Benitez, Dante and Christophe Hérelle will return on Tuesday and Khephren Thuram was given a couple of extra days by the coach.

An intense session:

“It’s going to be an ambitious season for the club: We will need to get to work in order to be ready for August.” The words of Patrick Vieira when speaking to the press, served to confirm the impression that had been left just a few hours earlier during training: the holidays are well and truly over for Les Aiglons. Under the baking sun, the Niçois took part in high-intensity drills, mixing running, ball-work and muscular work.

Loyal to their philosophy, the coaching staff then planned several small games with the ball to bring the session to a close.
