Africa Cup of Nations, European U21 Championships, Youth international football: The schedule for the summer break

The 2018-19 season continues for those players called up to their national sides. Discover below the programme for the Aiglons who have been selected for international duty. 

Atal, Srarfi and Hassen off to the Africa Cup of Nations

Several Aiglons will be involved in the Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place from 21 June until 19 July in Egypt.

Youcef Atal’s Les Fennecsare in Group C, alongside Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania.  

Bassem Srarfi and Mouez Hassen have been called up to the initial Tunisian squad, and await the final squad decision, which will soon be published by Alain Giresse*. In Group E, Les Aigles de Carthage will face Mali, Angola et de la Mauritania.

The schedule for the group stage is as follows:

23 June: Algeria - Kenya 
24 June: Tunisia - Angola
27 June: Senegal - Algeria
28 June: Tunisia - Mali
1 July: Tanzania - Algeria 
2 July: Mauritania - Tunisia

*Assil Jaziri was also called up to take part in the pre-tournament training camp.

Sarr at the European U21 Championships  

Malang Sarr, 20 years old, is currently preparing for the finals of the European U21 Championships, which will take place in Italy. The Niçois played a half during Les Bleuets’ friendly win over Belgium on Monday (3-0). A final test awaits Sylvain Ripoll’s side (on 11 June against Austria), before the start of the competition.

The schedule for the group stage:

18 June: England - France

21 June: France - Croatia

24 June: France - Romania

Although not part of the 23 man squad, Allan Saint-Maximin is one of 12 replacements available to the French coach.  

For the younger ones

Pedro Brazão will take part in the Lisbon International Tournament with the Portugal U17s. On the menu: A match against Japan on 9 June, before a double header against Norway (on 11 and 13 June).

Evann Guessand is currently involved in the 2019 Toulon Tournament. The Nice forward didn’t feature during the initial victory over Qatar on Sunday (2-0). The young French side will now face Brazil (on 5 June) Before a final group match against Guatemala (8 June).

Finally, Bilal Nadir played in thirty minutes of the France U16s friendly defeat at the hands of Germany (3-0).
