Brazão: The youngest in Europe...

Included in Patrick Vieira’s matchday squad for the first time, Pedro Brazão made his first Ligue 1 appearance during the match against Stade Malherbe (0-1).

Nice – Caen, final quarter of an hour. After being moved up to the U19s (12 matches, 7 goals, 5 assists), and then the N2 (7 appearances), Pedro Brazão prepared to take to the pitch of the Allianz Riviera for the first time. But more importantly, to play his first minutes in the big league. A serious entrance, lauded by Patrick Vieira and Malang Sarr, as the youngster boasted a pass completion rate of 100%.

At just 16 years and 3 months old, the Portuguese attacking midfielder, who will turn professional on 1 July, became the youngest player to play a match in the top five European leagues in 2018-19.

Interestingly, Pedro Brazão isn’t the youngest player to play for Le Gym in the top flight! Albert Rafetraniaina has held this record (16 years and 27 days) since October 2012, closely followed by Neal Maupay (16 years and 32 days).
