The bounce backs this season

Beaten at Angers last Saturday (0-3), OGC Nice currently sit in 8th place in L1. This season, the Aiglons are yet to lose twice on the trot in the league. Before travelling to Amiens (kick-off on Saturday at 8pm). Here’s a look at the times the Red and Blacks have bounced back after defeat.

CAEN 1–1 NICE (Week 2)

The season got underway with a home defeat at the hands of newly promoted Reims (0-1).

A reaction from the Niçois was expected. And they went to Caen and brought home a point thanks to a smart header from Ganago with 10 minutes to go (1-1). A hard-earned first point.

LYON 0–1 NICE (Week 4)

After a hit, a reaction. Heavily beaten by Dijon at home (0-4), in the days that followed, Patrick Vieira’s squad picked up their first win of the season... at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon (1-0).

NANTES 1–2 NICE (Week 7)

Beaten by Montpellier at the Mosson (1-0) in another non-match, the Red and Blacks got themselves going again just three days later at the Beaujoire, with a very accomplished performance (2-1).

This win, secured thanks to goals from Jallet and Makengo allowed the Aiglons to climb out of the bottom third of the table.

TOULOUSE 1-1 NICE (Week 9)

Shortly after, Nice came up against an impressive Paris team (0-3 defeat at the Allianz Riviera). But after the game against the current champions, Nice turned it around in Toulouse, in a match where the Gym’s performance could have earned them more than just a point (1-1).

BORDEAUX 0-1 NICE (Week 11)

The start of a good run for the Aiglons. Starting just after the home derby against  Marseille, which was lost by the smallest of margins (0-1).

Against Bordeaux, thanks to a goal from Wylan Cyprien and a strong team performance, the Azuréens secured a win (1-0) and kicked off an eight match unbeaten run (in all competitions).

NICE 1-0 BORDEAUX (Week 20)

The same fixture, the same score. After struggling at the start of winter (defeats at Strasbourg in L1 and in Toulouse in the Coupe de France), the Gym restarted their run of form against the Girondins. Doing the basics (1-0) and securing the three points, before following up with two draws (Monaco, Reims) and a win (Nîmes).

NICE 1-0 LYON (Week 24)

The second "4-0" (at Lille) of the season was followed by the same response as the first: a huge performance and an excellent win over Lyon (1-0).

These two fixtures a week apart, came before the Gym’s last outing at Angers.
