Welcome Aliou Baldé!

OGC Nice is pleased to announce the signing of Aliou Baldé. The Senegalese striker has transferred from Lausanne-Sport.

Le Gym supporters got a sneak preview of him at the “traditional” preseason clash against LS, where he opened the scoring with a superb individual goal. A lively attacker, Aliou Baldé (20yrs) now wears Rouge et Noir. This signing is the latest example of the “links between Lausanne-Sport and OGC Nice, two clubs with the same owner, INEOS,” declared Jean-Pierre Rivère, before adding: “We work together, intelligently. We loaned Rares (Ilie) to LS at the start of the summer and we are delighted to welcome Aliou. We are convinced that this partnership will continue to be very positive for both clubs.”

A former player of FC Diambars, Aliou Baldé’s first stop in Europe was in the Netherlands where he signed for Feyenoord. After successive loans at Wassl-Beveren (Belgium) and Dordrecht (Netherlands), he then joined the Feyenoord first team before transferring to Lausanne in the winter of 2023. He played a key role as Lausanne won promotion to the Super League (14 appearances and five goals in the second half of the season) and he already scored two goals in the first five rounds of the 2023-24 season. On the field, Sporting director Florent Ghislofi explains “that Aliou is ready for Ligue 1. He is very quick, technical, capable of beating his opponent and he can play any position in the front line. He is also very good in front of goal. We want to give our coach different profiles who can settle quickly and perform. That is clearly the case here because he has already made a good start to the season.

“I’m very proud to sign for OGC Nice,” said the player. “It’s a great club with big ambitions. I can’t wait to play in Ligue 1 and in front of the fans at Allianz Riviera. I hope we will achieve great things together.”
