Aiglon of the match from Marseille - Nice

Lemina comes out on top

Mario Lemina is your Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Match from the 2-1 defeat to Marseille.

LEMINA: HARD WORK AND A GOAL

At the heart of the battle, Mario Lemina took part in the most challenges (14) of any player at the Vélodrome. Useful at both nicking the ball from his opponents (with five ball recoveries) and cutting out passes (with five interceptions), Le Gym’s number 18 also made a difference in the opposition box to score his second goal of the season in the 92nd minute, following the one against Lens in December. It sadly wasn’t enough to take the edge off the immense frustration that hung in the air at the final whistle in the derby.

DELORT tries everything

Behind Mario Lemina’s 33% of the votes, we find Andy Delort on 18%. Having been the most dangerous-looking Nice player on the pitch, he also vied to be the unluckiest in the second half, with a goal ruled out for offside against Calvin Stengs in the build-up, a lightning-quick intervention from the Marseille keeper to stop a decent cross from Khephren Thuram, a penalty that wasn’t given after an inch-perfect cross from Justin Kluivert and, finally, a shot that took a slight deflection off William Saliba onto the base of the post.

TODIBO COMPLETES THE TOP THREE

Despite being unlucky with the penalty given to Marseille, Jean-Clair Todibo finishes in third place with 17% of the votes. Having been strong in the challenge, winning 57% of them, including all of his aerial duels, the defender also attempted to influence things in the opposition box, with 14 final-third entries.
