Melvin Bard joins Leeds on loan

OGC Nice and Leeds United have struck a loan deal with a purchase option for Melvin Bard. The 25-year-old left-back, who joined Le Gym in 2021, will now discover the Premier League after five seasons in the red-and-black shirt.

He was 20 when he moved to the Côte d’Azur from Olympique Lyonnais. He quickly established himself on the left flank, and was consistently one of the team’s top performers.

With Le Gym, Melvin played in Europe and two Coupe de France finals in 2022 and 2026, as well as enjoying some Ligue 1 campaigns that saw strong finishes in the table.

He has developed from a promising youngster to a confirmed top-flight player across the five seasons, and has always shown energy and determination in defending Le Gym’s colours.

He has also stood out for his personal qualities and his ability to form bonds in the dressing room, wearing the captain’s armband on numerous occasions.

He now faces a new challenge with Leeds United in the English Premier League.

OGC Nice wishes Melvin the best season possible on the other side of the Channel.
