OGC Nice is delighted to announce the signing of Mohammed Amoura. The 26-year-old forward joins on loan from Wolfsburg (with option to buy).

After Elye Wahi, it’s another experienced forward that joins the Red and Blacks. Experience and talent. Established Algerian international (47 caps, 19 goals), Mohammed Amoura arrives on the Côte d’Azur "with huge motivation". “I know L1 well and I know OGC Nice. I have lots of friends who have played here. I know that last season wasn’t easy, but I also know that there are still big ambitions. I liked what I heard from the directors and the coach. I know that the fans are brilliant, I like that too. I hope we will have a great season!”

After coming through the ranks at ES Sétif, Amoura first discovered Europe in Switzerland with FC Lugano (66 matches, 17 goals, between 2021 and 2023). But it was in Belgium that he truly exploded onto the scene, when he became one of the main figures behind the renaissance of Union Saint-Gilloise. During his only season in Belgium, in 2023-24, he scored 22 goals and picked up 7 assists across all competitions, notably taking home the Belgian Cup. Following this successful spell, he chose to join Wolfsburg, where he continued to show real consistency, scoring 18 goals in 67 appearances, including 8 last season, despite the “Wolves” being relegated.
