Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Match: Gouiri despite the defeat

Despite Le Gym’s defeat on Saturday against Lyon (1-4), the Nice supporters opted to pick out the performance of Amine Gouiri. The forward secured 86.7% of the vote in the election of the Crédit Agricole Aiglon of the Match. Robson Bambu (7.7%) and Rony Lopes (5.6%) join him on the podium.

His early movement and control of the ball set the tone for the evening. Or more accurately the first hour, because everything became more complicated in the final thirty minutes of the game for Les Aiglons. In terms of tempo, Amine Gouiri impressed all as he came up against his former club, despite the heavy defeat that Les Rouge et Noir suffered as they were punished for individual errors.

Mobile and technical, the n°11 only just missed the target from an early cross from Kamara. He couldn’t quite control a ball into the box from Rony Lopes (39'), in what proved to be almost a carbon copy of the youngsters goal. A goal that came before the break (44'), after a delightful diagonal ball from the Prortuguese attacking midfielder, which Gouiri smashed home with his head, to mark his 9th goal in 20 appearances this season (to which you need to add three assists).

Behind the tip of the attack sits the center of the Nice rearguard: Robson Bambu. Quick and not afraid in his duels, the Brazilian centre back put in a solid hour.

The man with the assist, Rony Lopes, who seems to get better with every game, both technically and physically, completes your podium.
