Aiglon of the match

Laborde shows the way

Gaëtan Laborde (36% of the vote) is your Aiglon of the Match against Marseille (3-1) after producing a decisive display.

With Terem Moffi starting for the first time, he started on the right of the front three, a choice that paid off for coach Didier Digard as Gaëtan Laborde scored his third goal in as many league games (his 7th with the Gym, 9th of the season) after netting the winners against Lille (1-0) and Lens (1-0).

But his performance was so much more than his goal as Laborde gave his all for the cause, making runs, harrying defenders, and - as he did for the opening goal - creating that decisive first moment: it was his shot that was pushed out by Pau Lopez and headed home on the rebound by Sofiane Diop (38'). Six minutes later, Laborde followed up after Khephren Thuram's effort had been parried by the OM 'keeper to net the second.

His sixth career goal against OM — the most he's scored against a L1 club — was just desserts for his display before he was replaced by Antoine Mendy nine minutes from time.

Solid as ever, Jean-Clair Todibo came in second (25%) following an immense display alongside Dante, in front of Kasper Schmeichel, and with Youssouf as the holding midielder, all of which provided the team with a robust platform.

Jordan Lotomba (12%) completes the podium after winning out in his duel with Nuno Tavares. The Switzerland international might even have found the net but his long run forward ended with his shot being saved by Lopez (74').
